Notice: the studio is no longer active.
Founding
I founded the studio in May 2016 and named it Ant Studio.
Work
Ant Studio began as a Minecraft discussion group. Its purpose was simply to entertain both ourselves and others. The studio also took responsibility for operating Minecraft servers.
The studio later explored video, animation, servers, and other fields. It became inactive after July 2017 and has remained dormant ever since—in practice, it ended.
Between 2016 and 2017, we completed many collaborative tasks, including server projects, website projects, and Minecraft map-planning projects. We tried to expand into different fields rather than limiting ourselves to Minecraft.
History
September 29, 2015: The Ant Discussion Group Was Founded
This was AntJun’s first Minecraft discussion group. It was conceived as a place where players could exchange creations and experiences. As my Minecraft projects began attracting attention in 2016, the group also brought together more players with similar interests.
May 1, 2016: Renaming and Collaboration
To expand the team, the Ant discussion group was formally renamed Ant Studio. It remained a small, entertainment-oriented nonprofit group and was never incorporated as a legal entity.
During the same period, we began exchanging ideas with other Minecraft teams, including Dazzling Wing Studio, Flame Scale Studio, and Phantom Studio. We did not undertake any formal joint projects; the collaboration consisted mainly of small-scale discussions and sharing experiences.
October 1, 2016: Ant Server Went Online
Ant Server, also known as the Minecraft “Sunset Valley” server, was a small-to-medium public Minecraft server built by studio members. It ran on Alibaba Cloud and supported Ant Skin. Members maintained and updated it throughout its operation, but insufficient funding forced it to close after a little more than six months.
January 1, 2017: Ant Skin Went Online
Ant Skin was a Minecraft skin site built jointly by dzpaji and AntJun and powered by Blessing Skin. It later closed when the hosting plan expired and nobody renewed it.
July 2017: The Studio Became Dormant
The studio ceased its activities during this period. I may eventually publish a separate blog post describing what happened on and after June 26, 2017.
2018–2019: No Further Activity
The studio did not resume operations or publish any further updates.
Members
The membership history is not entirely clear. Some people joined and left quickly, some withdrew for long periods, and some were only short-term collaborators. The list below records everyone who joined or collaborated with us, in memory of the unlikely friendships we formed in such a vast world.
